Following the success of Flat Panel Solutions (overseas) the company needs an online identity which enables their customers to know more about the company at the click of a button. The site not only gives their customers a new way of contacting the company (via a php contact form), but I have also created an online (php) form for repairs requests.

This was a small challenge that I wanted to follow through for someone that I know. The site is a basis for him and his children to help keep more in touch whilst being in separate countries. I wanted to site to look fun and child-like, with each child having a separate page (in their favourite colour) and their dad's page having a messageboard where they could leave messages for each other.

The original TDOC site is being given an overhaul in terms of it's look. The site originally ran quickly, but I felt that it wasn't user-friendly enough, and thus was requested to change the look of the site (including a long list of specifics) whilst I incorporated cascading stylesheets (css) instead of tables.

This position is purely a bilingual customer care specialist role where customer enquiries and issues are taken (From France, Belgium & Luxembourg) then a francophone engineer is sent on site. Translation and interpretation is required on a regular basis from and to english.

This company wanted to update the code for the website (having been published in 2002). The coding has been changed from pure html to html with integrated css. This decreased the site loading time whilst also giving the customer the option of updating and changing the page at their own leisure. Also the site was moved (by the provider) from an ASP supporting server to a PHP supporting server, thus the previous ASP contact form has now been replaced by a PHP one.

This was originally a summer position which was then continued throughout my degree and beyond. Duties included developing the company website to help increase company revenue; as well as market research. This position called upon many of the skills acquired during my degree and tested my ability to put them into practice in a ‘real world’ situation.

A stewarding position within the university union. This position called for tact and diplomacy allied to a determination to complete the task; this enhanced my people skills but also my ability to think on my feet.

I taught English to students aged 14 - 24 in their native language, engaging them in a vast array of subjects (Computer Science, Tourism, etc) at a level equivalent to an Honours Degree level. This position not only enhanced my communication skills, but also boosted dramatically the confidence in my ability to speaking a foreign language.
